In order to use our resources more ethically and responsibly as a non-profit to support clients on their journey toward mental health and confident independence, we are working toward making the campus itself more independent from expenses. These are a few ways we would like to achieve this:
- Have a “green energy” and/or a NET-ZERO campus by incorporating wind and solar energy, as well as geothermal heating and cooling. These have an upfront expense, but in the long run, it will save money to bring down those monthly expenses.
- Grow and raise healthy food for and with the clients on the campus.
- Develop supporting entities in which the profits are reinvested back into OLGC itself. These will give opportunities for clients to engage in meaningful work so they can also earn money, develop skills, foster relationships, gain confidence, and grow in virtue.
- Create a Foundation mainly used to help with treatment expenses for clients who have a financial need.
Bringing down operating expenses and adding income from the supporting enterprises, will bring down treatment expenses for the clients.
